OPTIMUM TRANSSOURCE, INC. ( OTSI)

OTSI is a medical transcription corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines. It is a member of the Medical Transcription Industry Association of the Philippines (MTIAPI). It is also a founding member of the Baguio Medical Transcription Consortium (BMTC) which is composed of medical transcription companies based in Baguio City, Philippines. For operational ease, the production facilities of the BMTC are located in one building.

OTSI  has 25 work stations. This can translate into 50 work stations on two shifts, and 75 work stations in three shifts. The BMTC has a total of  56 work stations which can translate into 112 workstations on two shifts and 158 work stations in three shifts.

Because it is less expensive for US and other firms outside of the Philippines to use us, clients find outsourcing  more expedient.  Usually they save anywhere from 40% to 60% depending on their current practice. We usually get the work back faster – no need to pay us if there is no work.

What exactly do we do?

Our company is engaged in providing medical transcription and general transcription services to offshore individuals and companies. We have a current production capacity of 5,000 lines per day with a turn around time (TAT) of 12 hours. Accuracy rate is at 98% wherever possible.

Our physical, technical and operational infrastructure are HIPAA compliant. Our personnel are all college graduates with medical and allied medical degrees, trained for a minimum of 6 months for medical transcription and have a minimum industry experience of 1 year for MTs and 2 years for Editors.

We specialize in acute care, operative reports, radiology, oncology, cardiology, psychiatry, physical therapy / rehab reports, consultations, follow-ups, office notes, discharge summaries and more. We also do legal and general voice transcription.

We have been in business for two years.

How can OTSI save money for you?

Several ways - depending on what you currently have. If your medical transcription is fully done in-house, then you save a lot from having to operate a full department with full complement of infrastructures (workstations, communications lines and employee compensation and benefits). Savings can go as high as 60%. If your medical transcription is done by us - then you save the difference with our lower rates.  We also get the documents in faster to you as we are awake when you are asleep. When you wake up, the transcribed work is ready for viewing.

What makes OTSI a preferred Medical Transcription company?

  • OTSI is a member of the Medical Transcription Industry Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MTIAPI), an organization of medical transcription companies and schools and allied industries in the Philippines with close affinity and working arrangements with AAMT.
  • Our facility is dedicated purely to the transcription business. We have no other businesses sharing the same servers, broadband lines, and programmers. Our facilities include:
    1. Stand-by generator and full transmission lines to ensure continuous power to our operations.
    2. All computers are fully UPS-equipped and of the same make and model, making repairs and system installation easy. Downtime, should it occur, will be minimal.
    3. DSL (1 Mbps) provider is PLDT.
    4. Our clients have the option to transmit dictations to us via FilesToGo or FTP. We are also familiar with web-based TASP systems such as Dragon MT Workflow System (formerly MedRemote).
    5. All operations personnel and editors have medical backgrounds and, on the average, have a minimum of one year experience in the medical transcription business. Everyone - from our supervisors down to our support staff - speaks English.
    6. We have a quality assurance program that will guarantee 98% accuracy whenever possible.
    7. Our whole facility and systems are HIPAA compliant and data secure. We have imposed stringent regulations to insure confidentiality:
      • Hidden cameras are installed
      • All servers are fully HIPAA-compliant secured
      • Passwords are changed regularly to make sure only authorized personnel have access
      • Every visitor, including clients, must sign a HIPAA confidentiality agreement before entering our premises
      • Every PC screen saver is enabled (within one minute of inactivity) and will require a password to reactivate
      • Two back-up servers
  • OTSI understands the requirements of healthcare providers, so we go through a painstaking process of selecting a team of medical transcriptionists that can best provide for the particular needs of each of our clients.
